Reworks & Alterations

Beyond original couture, we also work with pieces that already carry meaning — a mother’s gown, a vintage find, a dress that’s been waiting for its next chapter. These projects begin with the garment itself: we assess the fabric, lace, and construction to determine what’s possible, then design around what the piece can become, rather than starting from a blank page.

This can take many forms — reworking a silhouette into a fitted bodice and tiered skirt, separating a gown into wearable pieces, or transforming a dress into something as unexpected as a robe. The intention is never to erase the original garment, but to carry its history forward into a form you’ll actually wear.

Because every piece arrives with its own condition, construction, and amount of usable fabric, we begin with an in-person consultation before any pricing or timeline is set. We generally recommend starting these projects several months ahead of your event, to allow time for both design and construction.

If you have a piece you’re hoping to bring new life to, we encourage a bridal appointment in our salon to begin the process. Please email us at palomafdlm@virgin-rogue.com with any questions about our work and process.
